Job Description
Fuel Cycle is currently seeking an Associate Director, Qualitative Research who will be managing our strategic technology accounts, while leading a cross-functional group of researchers. In addition, will be responsible for ensuring quality of the deliverables, client retention, resource planning, and managing the profitability of group accounts.
The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge of qualitative research methodologies, experience leading a team, and be the strategic advisor for high profile clients.

How You’ll Make An Impact:
Client Relationship Management
-Direct ownership of strategic technology accounts, while overseeing group accounts
-Manage client satisfaction and engagement for group accounts
-Support researchers in their efforts to expand client relationships through upsell and cross sell initiatives
-Manage the client contract renewal process to ensure client retention and renewal revenue
-Manage client health metrics through salesforce and internal dashboards
-Research, Project Management & Insight Delivery
-Develop research project proposals, budget research hours and assign tasks to internal staff or contractors
-Translate business questions into research plans, utilize internal platform to design and program the research instruments
-Analyze data and develop insightful results or “stories” that address business objectives in a clear and concise, visually appealing format
-Play the role of lead moderator/interviewer in the gathering of insights, primarily through focus group moderation and in-depth interviews.
-Load, test and proofread any associated research surveys and content on staging before posting live to production
-Perform tasks and responsibilities required with thoroughness to produce high-quality, high-accuracy market research deliverables
-Ensure data accuracy and relevance to objectives at every step in the project process to ensure the data is both internally consistent and demonstrates face validity
-Manage quality, gross margin and contract compliance for group accounts
Team Management
-Manage a team of 2 to 5 researchers
-Key role in hiring, training, coaching, performance management and support to continue developing their skills and research acumen
-Ensure team effectiveness, efficiency and engagement by providing leadership and guidance to direct reports
-Ensure direct reports are following company policies and utilizing project management tools appropriately
You’ll Be Successful If You Have:
-Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a related field
-Minimum 7 years of prior custom, qualitative research experience (specifically interviews and focus groups), preferably with a research vendor company
-Minimum 5 years of client relationship management experience
-Minimum 3 years of management experience
-Vertical expertise
-Hands on experience utilizing qualitative and quantitative research methodologies
-Experience with Qualtrics, Alchemer, SurveyGizmo is required.
-SurveyMonkey, SPSS, SAS, R, and/or Tableau are nice to have.
-Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required
-Self-motivated, flexible, and organized
-Capable of working independently and within teams
-Excellent interpersonal, problem-solving and project management skills
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-This position can be fully remote. We prefer candidates who are New York or Los Angeles based and can work a hybrid schedule.
